Isologen is a unique way of rejuvenating skin by using your own collagen producing cells. These cells are called fibroblasts. A small piece of skin is taken from behind the ear and then sent off to the lab so that fibroblasts can be cultured. This normally takes 8 weeks. Once there are sufficient fibroblasts they are injected into the skin. The fibroblasts start to produce collagen. The advantage of this treatment is that it may be very long lasting, however it can be expensive and is not suitable for everyone.
