Hypertrophic and keloid scar treatment varies from simple application of silicone gel to scar excision and revision. Scarring is a natural consequence of deep dermal wound healing. However if the skin fails to heal properly the subsequent scarring may be abnormal. A full scar assessment will be done and the appropriate treatment selected depending on the severity, location and type of scar. |
