Lymph glands in the neck Children are easily prone to getting repeated coughs and colds. This often causes the glands in the neck to come up. Once the child has recovered the glands go away, occasionally they may persist. If the glands persist and you are worried then further investigations can be done. These investigations may involve some blood tests and an ultra sound image of the gland. Rarely the glands may need to be removed under a general anaesthetic. The operation is done as a day case. |
